Worship from Okeana
Released August 10, 2012
album cover

Available on iTunes, CDBaby, and more

Okeana is pronounced, O-key-anna; which of course is the place where the songs were recorded. This collection of songs is a sample of songs from a typical Sunday. It's pretty cool to be able to worship with children while leading with current 'radio-play' songs as well as a variety of other genres. We hope you enjoy this album and if you're in the Harrison Ohio area, come join us if you're a kid or you're a kid at heart.

Members on the 'Worship from Okeana' album are:
Bob Conly - Bass
Aaron Edwards - Percussion
Kirk Hopkins - Acoustic Guitar, Bass, Electric Guitar, Percussion, Vocals
Pamela Hopkins - Vocals
Kyle Quinlivan - Acoustic Guitar, Vocals
Brianna Quinn - Vocals

 E                 A2        E
Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
     E                   B2   B7
That saved a wretch like me!
  E                 A2      E
I once was lost but now I'm found;
    C#m        B2    E
Was blind, but now I see.

'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved.
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed!

Through many dangers toils and snares
I have already come.
'Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far
And grace will lead me home.

     G                    C        G
When we've been there ten thousand years,
       G              D   D7
Bright shining as the sun,
      G               C          G
We've no less days to sing God's praise
     Em      D7      G
Than when we first begun.

14 I Love Thee
I Love Thee
1
I love Thee, I love Thee,
I love Thee, my Lord;
I love Thee, my Savior,
I love Thee, my God.
I love Thee, I love Thee,
and that Thou dost know;
But how much I love Thee
my actions will show.

2
I'm happy, I'm happy,
O, wondrous account!
My joys are immortal,
I stand on the mount!
I gaze on my treasure
and long to be there,
With Jesus and angles,
and kindred so dear.

3
O Jesus, my Savior,
with Thee I am blest,
My life and salvation,
my joy and my rest:
Thy name by my theme,
and Thy love be my song;
Thy grace shall inspire both
my heart and my tongue.

4
O, who's like my Savior?
He's Salem's bright King;
He smiles, and He loves me,
and helps me to sing.
I'll praise Him, I'll praise Him,
with notes loud and clear,
While rivers of pleasure
my spirit do cheer.

Song dedication:
This song is dedicated to Mr. Jones. When I (Kirk) was a kid growing up, our church would have 'hymn sings' where the congregation would pick their favorite hymns and we would sing it (kudos to the pianist and organist, playing a song on the spot is no small order). Before the pastor would get the words 'hymn sing' out of his mouth, Mr. Jones would have his hand up, always with the same request, 'I Love Thee'. Ug, again? I could hardly stand it. I grew up, and Mr. Jones passed away. Then one day I actually read the words to the song, you know, not just reading to sing it, but looking at the meaning. Check out the first verse:

I love Thee, my God.
I love Thee, I love Thee,
and that Thou dost know;
But how much I love Thee
my actions will show.

Wow, that was Mr. Jones! I know he wanted it to be everyone. No wonder he loved the song. I can't even think of the song now without remembering the saint who went on before me, Mr. Jones. As I mentioned before, we did this song with piano and/or organ growing up; hopefully gzuslivz did the song justice in the style of an African spiritual. I look forward to singing this song with you again someday Mr. Jones.
